I found myself at the beginning of 2020 sitting in an empty house that my husband and I had just purchased a few months before. And then, as we all know, COVID happened. Our move from Virginia to Pennsylvania would take up most of 2020, and for weeks at a time I would be at our new house emptying boxes, cleaning, painting, reading, watching videos and practicing social distancing. We didn't have cable yet, but I wasn't in a hurry to get it either. I found that I enjoyed the disconnection from a constant stream of digitized entertainment.
And then I started daydreaming about farms and what we could do with the little bit of property we now had. And I started to research crops and animals and anything that someone completely ignorant about farming would want to know. I started reading about hobby farms, bee farms, fiber farms, and angora goats and RABBITS!...and then I started writing.
